I’ve loosely wondered how many of the world’s problems trace back to creating a system where parenting your own child is discouraged.

Yes! The slow of population growth or whatever is often framed as a lifestyle choice by radicalized or looney modern people, but I feel like it's more likely a choice made by people not very different from their ancestors but responding to a vastly different system and set of incentives.

Your article provides a very good argument for redefine productivity away from market logic and toward human connection and care.

Unfortunately it's not good for business and most companies won't care. But you writing helps as it changes the minds of workers who usually fall for the corporations propaganda. ♥️

Beautiful phrase to describe the new experiences with your child: "tender, fleeting and sacred."

Like yoga and wellness, I've looked with some skepticism upon some of new corporate grabs into spirituality. It seems like orgs are trying to scratch an itch we all have, and forgot about -- and we forgot about it largely because orgs deadened us to the needs and longings of our own human hearts. I dunno - I am not explaining this well. But something seems off.

Yes I believe (?) No Logo by Naomi Klein has a good chapter on corporations consciously trying to co-opt elements of religion and spirituality, so that their brand could "transcend" actually making any product

Congratulations on the new life! Maybe most things shouldn’t be subjected to the logic of a job, even business, but I only really see UBI fulfilling that and allowing us all to operate on our own rhythms.
