When traveling, it's important to be still. To be without any technology, even a book or pen or paper. To use your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, feet and hands and hair to become one with the world. The actual world, the actual wind, the real sun, radiating bright and strong on a day of all cloudless glory
I deal with this often when I travel. My wife wants to plan things out months or years in advance.
She likes to optimize everything from where we stay to what we do where we go. I'm not a fan of this approach.
Vacations are for relaxing and revelations. They should provide a fresh perspective and a break from the norm. Not be another job to complete.
She plans "blank spaces" into our trips to make them more fun and relaxing for me :)
But in general, it is hard to turn off work mode when I travel.
